New user here. I am looking into 2001 Ford Explorer Sports. Just trying to get some info before i start shopping around for one. Here are some questions i have for those of you who own them.
How many mpg to do you under city/highway driving for a 4wd version?
Are they stable on the highway? I've heard they're not too stable.
How do they hold up? Any major recalls or component failures?

Bryan, I have a 2000 Sport, so I'll answer this one. The Sports handle well in their own right, but you can make them even better. All that's required is an Explorer Express rear anti-sway bar (with poly bushings), and a set of poly bushings for the stock front bar. With these simple and inexpensive changes, you'll then have a vehicle that handles like a "Mustang with headroom"......
