Hello everyone i am new to the form. I have a 04 4x4 cc diesel with a pro comp 6.5 lift on it now but am going to swap out the springs this weekend to superlift 8" front and 7" rear. Talked to the guy at 4 wheel and he said the only thing i need different is the longer sway bar links and to have the frt drive shaft lengthen, all the other parts from the pro comp kit are the same. can anyone give me some advice on this ?
I got that exact same lift....Superlift 8 inch with dual Shocks ALL SPRING...Last time I checked (3 months ago) Superlift didn't make longer rear sway bar end links but they will soon. Front drive shaft SHOULD be legthened but I've heard that it's usable without the legthening for the street.
The carrier bearing drop braket should be needed to but my truck still shimmy's off the line
Thank's Kadukoboy for the info it's good to know i can drive it a couple of days before i take it in and have the front drive shaft done. also i checked out your pic nice truck thats about what i am looking for mine to look like with the lift just have to talk the wife in letting me get bigger tires lol
You will probably need to clearance your front driveshaft yokes on the cv joint or they might hit. The length issue can be gotten around by cutting the keeper off the boot and pulling some more slack out and re-attaching the boot with a zip tie. Seen it done but don't know if it works on all.
Sway bar links don't need especially if you have longer links with your current lift. I still have the stock links on mine in the back and the front sway bar is in the garbage. Back would be too but it's too much of a pita to get off
If you have a 2 piece rear d-shaft you might look at SL's carrier bearing drop bracket. Worked like a charm on mine.
Thanks for the info RRMike i will give that frt drive line adjustment a try so i can drive it down to the drive line shop. also what size wheels are you running with your tires ? i have 17x10 right now with 35" but want to run 37 or 38's
