I bought a 2001 f150 v8 5.4l 4x4 ofp with about 26,000 on. I love it!!
When I first bought, I put in the more expensive gas in the tank and as the prices went up, I put the cheaper gas in. I noticed the difference in how the engine ran, so I went back to the using the plus. Could there be a chip or is that just life? This is my 1st truck so forgive me if this a stupid question. Thanks for any imput.
The odds that someone has a chip in a vehicle they buy are small when you look at the number of chips verses the number of trucks. Remove the passenger side plastic kick panel. You'll see the computer box there, attached to the firewall. If there is a chip module you'll see it sticking out of the back of the box.
Normally a chip on 87 octane will cause engine ping, not just poor running.
