Block heater removal
I'm going to flush the cooling system and replace all hoses on my '73 400 soon. On each side of the block towards the front and bottom, there are plugs that go to the waterjacket. Only on mine, instead of having a plug on the passenger side, there is a valve that goes to a block heater. My motor came from cold climate and I don't need the thing anymore, and if I get rid of it, I can save myself some heater hose and unnecessary splicing. Here are some shots of that valve that is in the block:

Here are my questions: How likely is it that this thing will break off when I try to get it loose?
And what is the plug I use to replace it? What do I seal it with? And how tight do I get it?
Thanks in advance!
