Have had no luck finding a throttle body spacer for my 2000 Explorer with a 5.0L. Anyone out there who might have a suggestion where I might be able to locate one? Also, is it a worthwhile addition for improving performance?
Are you planning on running anything else with it? I ran one on my X before I got the supercharger. You will feel a bit quicker throttle response, and a small amount of 'seat' power. As far as dybo results - don't know what it really does.
You should be able to run an Airaid from any year 5.0 that was in Explorers, from what I understand, they all run 65mm t.b. that is basically the same as the 86-93 Mustangs...
Email me if you are interested in trying it. Mine is sitting up in the attic with alot of other parts collecting dust...
Thanks for your quick response to my question and thanks for your offer to try your TBI spacer. I would very much like to take you up on it, at least to see if Ford made any changes for the 2000 model year 5.0L. So, if you don't mind shipping me yours for evaluation would be appreciated, with the stipulation that I pay for shipping and, if I can use it, pay you for the spacer, at least soem money even if you no longer have use for it. In case I can't use it, it will be returned to you.
If you could supply me with your email address, I'll supply you with my home address via email.
When I get home this afternoon, I will package it for shipping. The only think I believe you will need to get is (2) throttle body gaskets. The kit comes with 2, but I think I broke one and kept the other one on the truck when I took it off. The part number for them is F67Z 9E936 AA . They run about $3.00 a piece.
