Going home...well, maybe...

Been thinking a lot lately of moving back to my hometown (Cincinnati), and was wondering if any of the folks on the board are from the area and work in the IT field. Particularly dealing with Information Security, IDS, firewalls, AV, etc. The job market looks pretty thin up there, but Virginia is starting to get old, so I'm keeping my eye open.

Anybody?

the job market for what you are looking at is growing at a very strong rate, dayton -cincy are almost one city, with all the growth that is going on.especially in mason. it would be well worth some time investigeting, you should plan a trip and spend about a week looking into the market. try finding people that you know , i might be able to help you, through some friends that i know, PM me if you want to....do you have a current resume aviable?

Funny you said the IT field. I know at least one, if not two people, in Info Securities. All the guys I know in the IT field, own little fast AWD jap cars. I have been part of a thread on another forum site that I'm registered to. Lately there hasn't been any talk but there was talk about job openings around three months along that field. Me, I drive for a living and I live on the westside (Dent/Mack/Bridgetown area).

I'll try and remember to ask some of the guys on the other site. It's down right now for hardware and software updates. The guys on the other site are such post *****s though. That one thread for the cincy group has about 80 posts a day during the week. Now that's post whoring. The It guys here most be bored.

I live in the Cinci area, but know nothing about IT. I do know that International Paper in Loveland has a big IT dept. Can't tell you if they're hiring though.

What I meant to say is, "The IT guys in cincy most be bored".

Since I couldn't edit my post I'll just make a new one.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm still keepin an eye out for jobs up there. I just spent 5 days up there at my Dad's house. He's over in Clermont County down by the River about 3 miles past New Richmond. He's laid up with a broken knee other wise I would have been looking while I was there.

DeckedoutF150 - I'll definitely touch base with you next time I'm in. My cousing is a Fairfield City cop, so I come up there to visit him every now and again. I'll PM you next time I'm headed up that way which should be fairly soon.

I just got back from New Richmond and other parts of greater cincy....kinda funny you mention it. Spent a week visiting friends & family.
IT in Cincy. I cant be particular.......but if your looking for an IT job in the area......I know of a couple places not well known for their employee satisfaction. One place on the west side and one place on the east side. They are both companies who contract themselves out as IT/Info security support.
