more confused than ever

I am wanting to put in a new air filter and after reading all the posts about K&N, Fram(Junk), and others I am still confused. I haven't heard a lot about the Amsoil Air Filter. From what I can gather it is a foam filter with the oil applied compared to the K&N guaze or cotton filter(if I remember right). I can't find any real study to compare any filters. Just curious what the pros and cons would be between the two. Would like to do an ais but can't afford it right now. Thanks for the input.

I had fitment problems with the amsoil air filter on both a 2000 Ranger and 1996 Dodge Ram. However, I had good luck on a third car, a 2001 Mecury Mountaineer.

So, when it came time to put a oiled-foam air filter on my 04 F-150, I choose Trueflow.com.
