Axle Codes??

Where on a 2001 Exp can I look to find the axle codes. Thanks..

I know I should be using a search engine somewhere in here. but I haven't found that option yet.

Look at the vehicle certification label on the driver's door. Under the bar code look for the word "AXLE". Directly underneath is a two digit code for your axle. If the code consists of two numbers, you have an open (non-limited-slip) differential. If it starts with a letter (often the letter "H") the rear differential is equipped with the optional limited slip feature. The second digit relates to the gear ratio.

The search feature for this site is located in the blue bar across the top of the page.

Yes, now that you say that I remember Ford codes being that way years ago. I'm going to look at this 01 tomorrow and I wanted to know what I'm looking at. I don't want to buy a truck with 3.31.. Thanks again.

Any chance you'd know the codes for a 3.55 or 3.73? Or know where I can find them?
