When I "bounce" (no I don't have hydrolics) my truck I get a lot of squeaking. I figure that the noise is comming from the center axel pivot bushings and shocks. Is there a way to quiet these down? They are just the rubber ones.
They may be shot. If you have to replace them, use some aerosol lithium grease. I have done a bunch of bushings using this stuff, and they don't squeek.
Depending on the bushing material, spraying either silicone or graphite into the bushing might cure the problem. If a bushing is worn, spraying it will have little effect.
Usually hogged out and you can see a space between the bushing and metal. On things such as sway bars you can move the bar around in the bushing. On radius arms you can move the arm up and down inside the bushing with a floor jack.
I don't quite understand or want to reiterate what you said about the radius arm bushing.
From rebocardo's post if I put a jack under the radias arm there shouldn't be any movement in the bushing, or very little. How strong are them arms? I would think that it would be easy to bent them arms if you put too much pressure on them with a jack???
