Thermostat
Need some advice; is there any advantage in changing the thermostat in a 2000 Explorer, 5.0L from the factory one to a lower temp one? What improvements, if any?

hearsay,i don't know for sure,but the 160 thermo would lower ect signal and ecc will advance timming.this was a standard for ecc iv mods.i don't know how the ecc v will respond.but i have considered it.
if you try it. post results.i doubt if its a mod you tell by seat of pants but anything that doesnt hurt may be a slight improvement

Thanks for your suggestion. FYI, I have upgraded to a Diablo chip and don't know if I want to advance my timing any further and get into pinging. My Explorer runs quite well so I'll give the thermostat some add'l thought.
