using transmission fluid

my 72 f100 with c6 uses about 1/2 a quart in a week. there are no leaks. what could the problem be? the fluid is very clean and i keep the fluid level right on full. thanks.

Pull the vacuum hose from the modulator on the back of the transmission. It connects to a vacuum source on the engine. If it is wet on the inside with transmission fluid, you are sucking it up into the engine through a bad modulator.
It is an easy and cheap fix, too.

Check the new modulator for a leak again. If there is transmission fluid in it, then either you got a defective new one (not impossible), or there is something wrong internally which ruinged the new one.
Or, you have a leak you haven't found yet.
Other than that, I am not familiar enough with transmissions to help out.

Has your engine backfired at all? Sometimes the pressure can rupture the diaphragm.
