looking for a 1980 - 1986 truck bed/box...
Hi all
I wasn't sure where to post this but since i would like to locate a truck box in Ontario i figured this would be a good place to post about it!
I've given up trying to repair the box on my 1983 truck. It's pretty much soft everywhere.
Also...would anyone have a good source for *affordable* brake parts (truck needs everything)
Thanks...scott

Have you tried your local wrecking yards? I know here in Sarnia one would run around $500-700 or so. As far as brake parts: what are you looking for? most parts you should be able to buy at any parts store. Not too many of them I would want to take off of a used vehicle IMHO. Good luck!

Hi Matt
I've tried all the local guys - most of them laughed when i told them what i was after - the ones that didn't laugh wanted to sell me one for $1200.
I've checked around for brake parts - i need everything except the master cylinder and brake booster (and i may still need those too).
I guess i'm starting to realize that my truck is much older than i had thought!

Yeah, a half decent box that old in good shape is gonna be expensive.
For your brake parts: go to your local Canadian Tire or whatever and you can buy steel brake lines (but you have to bend them yourself), new flex hoses, new calipers (probably with a trade-in), new pads and shoes, new wheel cylinders, new drums and rotors and whatever else you need. Be prepared to spend at LEAST $200 just in parts but probably closer to $300-$400 depending on exactly what you need.

P.S. Don't forget your Dot3 brake fluid!

Brake parts - I would agree with going to Canadian Tire.
Box wise, have you tried the southern truck parts place in Lindsay?
Hope this helps.
