Roller rockers

I got a 1968 F100 with a 302, and recently I installed a set of roller rockers. Has anyone besides me had trouble with the allen bolt backing out of the rocker? I have followed the directions and have called crane cams to iron out the problem. The directions say to torque it down between 18-20 ft lbs. This isn't enough, I took mine to 24 ft lbs with no problems. It has been a few days now without one backing out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The rockers gave me a substantial amount of more RPM's. I not sure what my redline was with the old valve train, but when i installed the rockers I also installed a tach. The engine revved to 8500 while going through the gears. It sounded like I was twisting a cat in half.

I would try loc-tite on the allen bolts and torque them to 18 - 20 ft lbs as directed. I hope that it helps. I used to hold my Harley together with Loc-tite, otherwise every 1000 miles you had to tighten every bolt and screw or you would lose parts.

i'm running a 347 with com cams roller rockers i had two back off on me like that so i talked to my machinest he said to replace them. so i called comp cams and they sent me two new ones i replaced them and haven't had a problem since.

I think that robduval is onto something there. Send them back to the manufacturer and see if they will replace them.

I got them to stay in so until they back out again, I think I'll stand fast. Thanks for the input.
