I have an F250 1989 7.3 IH engine around 180k miles. It started smoking under a load and sometimes when I start out for about 5 miles. This is not normal smoke, this thing looks like a mosquito fogger. I replaced the glow plugs and injectors with rebuilt ones (6 from ford and 2 from autozone) and its still doing it. This is gray or black smoke and the engine detonates when it does it. The truck uses alot of oil about 1 qt per 100 miles and Im sure thats rings but it runs like a top so Im willing to put the oil in it. However the smokes got to go. Is this an injector pump?( If so wheres the best place to get one) or did I get some bad injectors?
