Possible Electrical System Almost got me killed.
Hey everyone,
Today I was making a right turn at a light and my 1995 Explorer (120k miles) decided to shut down. I lost control of the brakes and steering. I ended up just missing a parked car after hitting a curb. Once stopped, I was able to put it in park and restart the truck – no problem.
I went to a parking lot to see if I can duplicate this. The same symptoms happen when you just turn the car off while you are driving.
Also today, my radio decided to scan my presets all by itself. I am not sure if it is a coincidence, or my electrical system is having fun with me.
Is there anything I can check to see if my electrical system is starting to become faulty?

Sounds like the computer is on the blink. The same thing happened to me me a few years back 1992 to be exact. I was using a friends 85 Z24 the radio went wild, did a scan and the car stopped on the railroad track ( no train coming) lucky me. I had it towed to the chevy dealership. They had to replace the computer. If you by chance need to replace the computer try fordpartscheap.com or rockauto.com. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
