Ok so I ordered my f150 about 3 weeks ago. Since I cant wait to get it I go drive one every once in a while.
Well... I drove a fx4 that was built in 01/04 friday afternoon.
I now know what the vibration thing is all about. This thing shook BAD! From about 40 all the way up to 70 mph. It not only shook the steering wheel but floor, pedals driver and passenger seat.
A salesman was with me and he asked me if I felt the vibration. I asked him how he could not feel it. Now I have driven 3 and this was the first to vibrate like this. He tried to tell me it was the road. When I told him I didnt think so he said it was a tire out of balance. I now understand how some have said it put there foot/leg to sleep. It would definatly do that.
Man I hope mine doesnt drive like this one did. I really upset and worried me.
By the way it had BFG tires on it if that matters to anyone.
The last time I was in the dealer, a guy brought his new one in with 300 miles on it and it was vibrating bad too.
BFG makes a very good tire, I'd doubt that it is the tires fault. It could be a bad factory balance job though.
I let my buddy drive my truck one time and he is used to driving a stick shift. He got done and put on the parking brake. I never put on the parking brake and I didnt notice it was on. the truck didnt act different untill I got up to about 40 miles an hour. Then it started vibrating. I look down and seen it was on and felt pretty stupid. I stopped to get some gas and It smelled like someone had started a fire under the truck.
