Hello everybody, Long time reader first time poster here. I have a question, I have a 1992 f-150 5spd short box reg cab 4x4 Nite. I just painted my baby a couple months ago and am now having the hardest time finding some new black mirrors for my truck. They are the side post kind, But the only ones any dealership or any other online store i have found has is the chrome ones. My truck is completly black, Every inch of it. So going chrome is not a option. Dose anybody out there know where to find some new ford or aftermarket black side post mirrors for my truck?
Sounds like a custom ride, worthy of one final custom detail: powder coating. You may have to have a mirror shop pull the glass first, but check Harley shops in your area, as they can usually hook you up with a powder coating business. It's a durable, sprayed-on, baked-on finish (in case you didn't know).
Yeah I have thought about the powder coat option. 1. My original mirrors are past the point of repair 2. I dont think you would get too good of a result trying to powder coat chrome. I also add that my nite package f-150 came stock with black side post mirrors.
I got some good pics, I should try to get a profile going. Paints perfect except for both original bumpers and mirrors.

Chrome can be powder coated and it looks just the same as anything else. You just have to scuff the chrome so that the "powder" can stick to the chrome. They will likely use sand paper to scuff it. Then all you have to do is enjoy the benefits of nice mirrors.
I ask arround here in Seattle. When I was in Calgary I called arround a little and couldnt find anyone that thought they could power coat chrome with good results. But ill try your advise and call some Harley places.
