Whats your story ???
Yeh go for it, it can be done. i had a friend whos uncle had a 48 apache i think it was, and he built it from scratch and it was a beast of a machine. My story is i hope to get one i have been in love with the 56 f100 since i was six years old and they are extremely hard to find down here in australia. so ill probablly just move up to america, are they easy to find over there?
thanks chris.
Yep.. I've owned 2 in my time, 1 way back when I was not so smart, and just reently got a clue, This one will get fixed up.

Fiftysix
I've owned my 56 for a little over a year and a half. It was modified some when I bought it with stuff I wanted on it. Mine is a daily driver, working truck, street rod. I'm customizing it as a rolling resto. Once I have all the mods done, I will probably take it back down to the frame to finish out all the small stuf before paint and reassembly. I figure that will take another year. Counting the purchase price, I'll have mine finished out for under $20k. I've loved 56's since I was a kid (and they were new!) But it wasn't until about two years ago that I finally went for it and bought a street rod. I don't have pictures of it in my gallery yet. The paint is cracked and chipped from snowy winters in Nebraska. The wood in the bed is pretty warped too. My work so far has been on running gear. It has a rebuilt (and warmed up) 351C with a rebuilt FMX three speed auto trans, 3:50 posi 9 inch rear, aluminum rims (old ET mags) and street tires,front-tilt hood, remote oil and tranny coolers, Mustang II front with disc brakes, and it is shaved with remote door openers.
I would love to dialogue about any mods you're making, although my knowledge of the stock 56 reality is limited.
Does a panel count. Its ugly still, got to get the 77 out of the way.
there is no such thing as a 56 being ugly. i think u have the wrong car mate a 56 is way to a beautiful machine to be called ugly.
but yeh a panel counts. love to see some pics when ur done.

After you have more posts, you will be able to email us. Check in on some of the other threads here and get your post count up. Maybe start a new thread and introduce yourself and your truck. FTE protects us from getting spammed to death so you can't email us directly from here for a while. And welcome to the 48-60 forum. I bet there are at least 50 guys here with 56s. I am not one of them though.
