I have a 99 Explorer XLS. I haven't pulled anything but a snowmobile trailer here the other day. The snowmobile wasn't even on the trailer. It is one of those single utility trailers. Obviously, this didn't cause my tranny to go, but my tranny is out.
I can't believe this, I only have about 24,000 miles on it. And....it has already gone out. Thank heavens I bought the extended warranty! My factory expired like 2 weeks ago. Man, would I be pissed if I didn't have that extended. I am still pissed but just not as much. But it is just the thought. I hear they have weak tranny's? Has anybody else experienced this problem?
I bought a new 99' F-150 that blow up the trans at 3000 miles! The truck only pulled one empty trailer the whole time I had it- (3) years! The trans was rebuilt a total of seven times. I had to keep the truck that long because I sued Ford, for breech of contract, and won. Since your truck is so new I would get it fixed then get rid of it before its too late. You have a lemon.
