I have a starting problem with my e150 van 302 motor.I can put gas into the carb and it runs until the gas is gone. i changed the relays to the electronic fuel pump it still will not start any help ?

Welcome to FTE. What year is it? Do you have dual tanks. How about the fuel filter? Have you looked inside the carb. Is the float or needle and seat stuck? Was it running and just quit? Was it sitting for long?

trike1946--- the year is 1988 it was running ok i shifted into forward and it quit. i changed the switch to the forward tank but it stillwon,t start i had a problem when i started the motor from a cold start, it would stop running when i shifted into a gear but i could start it ok and it ran ok, it did not do this every time.

In 88 it should be EFI. I would start with a tune up..... This will cure most starting problems. This includes: spark plugs, Use MOTORCRAFT, spark plug wires NOT cheap wires either, same goes for distributor cap and rotor, spend some moeny on them. Then check the timing, if you converted it to carb from EFI make sure that you also changed the ignition from computerized to duraspark, or MSD.
