i was on my way to celevland the other day and i went to down shift into 4th gear to pass. i hit the clutch and pulled it out of OD the clutch hit the floor and got really hard the last 1/2 inch of travel.it wouldnt let into 4th so i dubled clutched. so i pumped it up and it came back. it did it to me on the way home from celevland today. i checked for leaks and didn't find any and i checked the fulid resivore and its ware its spose to be. so any ideas or ansers bould be great 96 ranger 3.0L 76k
The clutch system has a master cylinder and a slave cylinder. The clutch master cylinder sends pressure to the slave cylinder. Follow the line that runs from the little reservoir and you will find the clutch master cylinder.
As mentioned it could be the slave or master. Take a look under the dash where the cutch rod goes thru the firewall & if you find fluid, the master cylinder is leaking.
