Opinion on 1993 Explorer
I have the opportunity to buy a '93 Explorer for $6,000 (I may be able to get it down closer to $5k). Four door, excellent body, cloth interior, am/fm/cass, air, auto, 4wd. Interior looks great. 49k miles. Haven't driven it yet, I know the owner and they say all it needs is brake rotors. Any problem areas I should check when I drive/before I buy? Does this price sound OK? Thanks for the help, Jason.

Opinion on 1993 Explorer
Nothing in particular, just the usuale things you would inspect on any used car. My 92 has had no major problems, just annoying little ones like a bad fuel pump relay, worn out door hinges, worn u-joint, little things like that. The rotors on the 4wd are a little different than other ones I have seen, so it will help if you have a manual before you start the job. But it is still a fairly easy process. And if it is really 49k miles and not 149k, then the price is very good...

and more things dry out than wear out. I think they would have a hard time selling it for that. I love Explorers, but these are a glut on the market. I only paid $5,200 for my 97 XLT 4WD almost a year ago. Nice shape doesn't matter when it is that old.
