Ranger CD/stereo interchange SOS!
I have a base model '03 Ranger that came with the factory AM/FM stereo. I was under the assumption that a factory CD/AM/FM unit from a '99 Ranger would drop in and work fine. The '99 unit fit right in, but doesn't work. The clock comes on, static can be heard from the speakers (AM mode seems to be the default), The CD will play but none of the controls work exc the on/off/vol ****. CD won't even eject. I noticed the '99 unit has 2 receptacles in back, but my '03 only has 1 plug. Is it a compatibility issue or is the '99 unit junk? THANKS!
