'95 E40D, hard shift, no speedo, help!
'95 F150, 5.8L, 4x4, E40D, new fluid and filter, new rear axle. Previous owner put in a non-ABS axle, and so the sensor was dangling when I bought the truck. I put in the correct axle and plugged the sensor in. Before, the tranny shifted hard, but it worked. Now, with new axle, the ABS light blinks on and off - haynes manual says Keep alive circuit not working, and module needs replacing? Correct? THe tranny shifts somewhat better, but the speedo still doesn't work. Arghghghgh! What's a garage monkey to do? 
Did driving with the non-abs axle ruin the module? Or did it disconnect itself and is in limp mode? Thanks for the advice in advance. Dave.

Well, thanks for the 'help' guys, but I figured out the problem myself. The junkyard axle was from a '94 F150 and I left the sensor on it due to laziness on my part. It didn't work, so I installed the other sensor from the truck and everything works. Keep up the good work.
