Bodystyle breakdown is '80-'86, '87-'91, '92-'96. I haven't tried it, but from what I have seen of them, I imagine that an '87-91 fenders/hood/grille would go on a '92-96 truck and vice-versa. Maybe somebody here has tried it?
I don't think it would. I think it's close, but the front of the hood's bend is different. Not quite sure though, but I really don't think it will work.
They will interchange from style to style but you have to change EVERYTHING from the firewall forward to make it work. I am in the process of putting a 96 frontend on my (slightly kissed) 91 3/4 ton. All I need to finish the job is a bumper.
13th is correct. I have a freind with a 84 frame, 88 cab, and and a 93 front clip. You do have to change the entire frontclip, including the core support.
I may be mistaken but I think the original thread talked about going to the 87-91 look. IMO the 92-96 is the best look with excepting to my favorite 78-79
He could have the parts readily available, who knows. I have a complete 90 doghouse on my parts truck but I think I would pay for a 96 should anything happen to mine.
