I have a restored 48 f-1 and am thinking about taking out the finished wood I placed in the bed and purchasing the original metal liner that sits atop the wood for the 48-49 models...
Has anyone done this? I know the metal liner gets close to $500 but I have some extra cash and think it is about time I restore this properly. I see that it appears to have been riveted in? Do I just grind down the old rivets and then what? New holes or? Thanks in advance jim
I cut mine out - or what was left of it - and it was spotwelded to the box sides. Underneath was a wood subfloor very similar to the exposed bed wood you have now.
