I am wondering if my 2002 F150 reg cab 2wd v6 has torsion bars. Do torsion bars lift the front or what. I am trying to find a cheaper way to lift the front instead of the leveling kit. Which if i dont find any other ways i am going to have to get. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
yes it does have coil springs and the reason i didnt look for the torsion bar is because i dont know what one looks like. I talked to a guy at the local 4x4 store and he said he didnt think they did.
I think you are thinking of sway bars. They are similar to torsion bars, but they are different. Sway bars are bars between the 2 sides of the truck to keep it level while cornering. Torsion bars act just like springs. Look at the link fishman posted.
A hex shaped bar about 6 feet long that runs from the front suspension to the middle of the truck, sort of like a radius arm, that makes an excellent pry bar when they snap from people cranking them up too much.
