Well, i just got off the phone with my local ford parts rep and he says that he has the parts book in for the 2005 SuperDutys, but no prices yet. Anyone have any ideas if the 2005 front end (i.e. bumper, lights and grille) will be a straight bolt up to an older (<2004) Superduty? I really like the looks of the newer front end and would like to switch mine out as the new parts become available, I just hope that the parts are interchangable.
A rather difficult question to answer, considering that no 2005 Super-Dutys have even been built yet. First one rolls off the line July 19th, so we dealers probably won't see the first one till first week in August.
No '05 built yet?? I just saw one today, it was an F-350 SWR CC LB 4x4. In pictures, I didn't care AT-ALL for the new front end, but when I saw that big beastly banana today, it looks DAMN good in person!
Oh wait. . .the Ford dealership here had a fifth-wheel out front touting the "Super Duty Power Tour ". I wish I coulda stopped at gawked at all the lifted SD's they had in the parking lot. Maybe the truck I saw was the tow rig??
WOW flyin ford I am glad to see that somebody else wants to upgrade to the 05 front end I really like it alot I hope it bolts up if you find out let me know please . did the emblems also change ? good luck in your conversion.
I think that it will be a fun conversion. Looking at the pictures, I THINK that it will be a direct bolt up. I don't think that anything changed with the frame b/c I see the same tow hooks sticking out the front of the new '05. Also from the pictures, I see that the emblems did change, now the question is are the holes in the fender for the F250/F350 emblems the same.
I am a little worried about being the first to try and see if it all fits. I deal with a Ford dealer in Texas (Genuine-Ford-Parts.com) and they sell at 20-30% off retail and no tax. He priced out the front end of an '04, just to see the cost of a bumper, grille, and lights, and it came it at about $700-800. But as someone metioned before, the whole front clip that all of this mounts to might be totally different then the one that the current trucks have(i.e. different mounting all together for grille, lights, bumper, radiator, AC condensor).
