need to know the differences

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE DIFFENCES BETWEEN THE 289 AND THE 302,PPL TELL ME THERE ARENT ANY MAJOR DIFFERENCES,I DONT THINK there right,can any one help me?

They are essentially the same. 289 has a 2.87" stroke. 302 has a 3.00" stroke. The parts readily interchange. Someone will need to second this, but I think 67 and earlier 289's have a 5 bolt bellhousing. '68 and later have a 6 bolt bellhousing.
