Corroded aluminum wheels
How do I fix what looks like bird poo on my wheels? Have the stock 5 spoke aluminum wheels and there are some whitish splotches on them and the feel raised and under what appears to be clear coat. Do I Flitz it? Or do I get the Alcoa wheel cleaner with abrasives and then use their sealer after I polish it? Other suggestions? They "test" sprayed salt solution on the mountain passes last winter.

Yeah the stock wheels are clear coated,a white powder is alloy oxidation, if it is under the clear then there is nothing you can do but strip it polish and reclear. You might have the dealer look at them because there could have been something under the clear. But with Ford in their crappy customer service as of late it could be new and they would say it was your ault.

they make a clearcoat stripper i used it on my wheels on my car before you brush it on and let sit a couple mins and wipe off dont know if they still make it but

You can strip the clear with "aircraft stripper" available at local AutoZone, Advance, etc. Then polish the wheel with a good quality polish ( I like Mothers, but there are others that work as well). After polish, you can re-clear them. Eastwood sells a kit to do exactly what you want.
