timing a 302
I have been trying to time my 302 1984 f150. I just do not know what the trick is to see the balancer with the light and time it. maybe you guys can help. Also the book does not say how many degrees it has to be.

Is there a sticker under the hood? My 86 has it right next to the vacuum and refrigerant stickers right in front of the radiator. I had the same question until I looked down one day. Mine says 10 BTC after unplugging the spout connector.

My 84 with a 302 says that with engine warm and idling at 800rpm the timing should be at 8 deg w/vaccum advance disconected. I usually mark the deg that I want with a paint marker to make it easier to spot.
