Front end sqeaking...

hey guys, long time no chat!... well my expy is making a nice loud squeak when I go over a bump from the front end .. seems to be the passenger side.. I took it to my friends shop and greased the front fittings but is still does it.. any idea's? Nothing seems to be physically wronge just a squeak.

Check your sway bar mounts,. My rears were squeeking also. I dropped both mounts and removed the rubber from inside and replaced with urethane. Nice and tigh now and no squeeks!

The pitman arm is also a notorious culprit.

Silglyde (available at NAPA) sprayed on them quiets it down

here's what I found

I had a similar problem on my 99 Expy. Would squeek over bumps, when hitting accellerator from a stop...and even if I shut the doors hard enough. It turned out to be a heat shroud over the exhaust pipe just forward of the muffler...it was bent and rubbing against the pipe...so anything that made the exhaust "shake" on its rubber mountings caused it to make the squeek....bent it away from the pipe and "tada!" no more squeek.
