I here a lot about all of the other upgrades; exhaust, chip, air, gauges, etc. but not much on installing a deeper tranny pan with fins for more oil and more cooling. Any comments?
Mag Hy-Tek makes an aftermarket pan, but most guys merely put on a big aftermarket tranny cooler like the Tru-Cool. I've got one, and have never seen my tranny temps over 165. It's even cheaper than an aftermarket tranny pan!
Mag-Hytec is good but has proprietary "O" ring seal. Not easy to find if you need to replace it while on the road.
I agree with Quad on the Tru-Cool, get both! I have the PML tranny pans and differential and ordering my Tru-Cool in a week or so. My summertime tranny temps run 160-180 in AZ.
