i want to put a solid d44 in the place of the d44 ttb that exists in my 88 f150.
other than the axle, what else do i need for a job like this? i have posi and 5.13 gears in my current ttb and am wondering too if i can pop that stuff right into the solid one.
one last thing, how much of a ***** of a job is it to do ball joints?
thanks y'all.
It is actually real easy. I did it on a 93 F-150 that I had and I am not to sure about removing the whole engine x-member. I know that I just modified mine so that the track bar from the 76 pickup would clear. The thing that I found out was that if you have a lift go the next size down on springs for the older ford (i.e If you have a 6 inch lift go with the 4 inch lift for the 76). I did this and found out that the 4 inch lift from the 76 fit my 6 inch ProComp lift. And yes the gears will swap right out. I was lucky and got mine to fit perfectly on the second try but it may take some shimming.
