Can anyone help, I'm getting nowhere with the dealership. And the service engine light has never come on.
My truck will start but after 2-3 seconds it dies. Previous problems
leading up to this:

1) In gear but at a complete stop the truck would shake lightly and RPM's drop to 500 or below (almost to a stall but never did). No problems with acceleration. It's been to dealer for same problem. They changed fuel filter, throttle body plate, camshaft tensioner intake gasket(recalled), pinion seal, did trans service, and coolant flush. Still occured.

2) I took it to a private mechanic and he changed all plugs (not wires) and gave truck a fuel injection cleaning.

3) when heat/defrost are on the same problem occurs and lights (exterior and interior) dim. The A/C was recharged at dealership in August. Battery and altenator are okay.

Could it be the MAF? Fuel injectors? Fuel pump? Just want to know what to expect so I don't get robbed at the dealership again.

iac,dirty or non functioning,or both.that little silver can with the plug on top of your tb.it raises idle when stopped and when ac compressor kicks on during certain vent/heater settings.take it off clean it out with carb cleaner especially the little air vent cap.
