Rear U-Joint

Mine did the same thing. Rear U-Joint. Looked good, passed the hand check, no rust, corrosion or anything. Switched it out and inspected it and it was ate up inside. Cheap and easy fix.

From: just outside of Phila.
same thing for me in my 88 4x4 and I swithed the constant velocity joint, didn't do it anymore. I could feel it in the transfer case shifter too.

Is there any noise associated with the vibration? Clunking sounds are often times associated with u-joints and squeeling sounds with wheel bearings. Heavy vibration is often due to the wheel bearings becoming loose.

also check your rear end pinion nut. they tend to losen up and will also cause what you have. should be torqued to 120lbs.
