89 bronco 2. I am considering a 302 transplant. Maybe a carbureted engine
so as to not worry about the fuel inj., wire harness, computer, etc. My
question is whether a larger rear differential will fit the stock B2 rear axle or
does the whole axle and everything have to be replaced. What will fit and
does this require the same change to the front diff? I am considering an 84
full-sized bronco for engine and drive train components.
If I was going to do the V8 swap I would get the 8.8 rear end and D35 front axle.out of a 91-94 Explorer or a 4.0 Ranger 90-??Also the front and rear springs from the X. If you are going to be a hard core 4wheeler then a solided front axle and a 9" ford rear is the way to go.Yes the hole axle has to be replaced. The D28 and the 7.5 stock axles are weak ,they will just bearly handle the 2.9 with out braking.
