haha yeah..i got what you meant..but damn..i dont want to run 50:1 and ruin the engine..hmm..you would think it would say somewhere on the engine..wouldnt you?
Use a brand name tc-w3 type outboard oil mixed at 50:1 and you won't have any trouble, no matter what was originally called for.
Many older motors called for SAE 30 mixed at somewhere between 16-1 and 36-1.
The oils are so much better now than even in the 70's and '80's that you can run 50-1 and you dont get the smoke, soot and fouled plugs.
I had a yamaha 40hp that ran 100-1. A gallon of oil lasted a long time in that boat!
