5.4 have some noise when cold, usually under light load. Sounds like lifter noise. Not a problem as per Ford, no repair.

Shouldn't be any problems with that late of an engine. My 2001 hasn't had any problems either.

HMMM, The normal piston slap is only when cold. This is due to the pistons having short skirts and it lets the pistons wobble slightly until they get heated up. (A lot of the GM LS1 engines do this too)
How many miles are on the engine and what is it in?
