Help with my 93 explorer 4x4!
I need your help. The 4x4 of my explorer 93 don't engage! I don't use it for a long time, and now when i push the button nothing happend! i can hear a smooth sound in the back of the pick-up, but not the hard sound in the middle-down of the truck. And the light "4x4" is off. Please help. Im from Chile (south-america) and here is winter and i need go to the forest to work in my bussines, but i can't go without the 4x4. Thanks so much.

Probably another dirty shift motor. A fairly common problem. There are several places with instructions for removing and cleaning the shift motor. As one example see www.glue.umd.edu/~singletn/exp.html

May want to try the reset button at the relay in the back of the truck. Remove the rear panel inside the car over the left rear wheel wheel. Towards the front of the car past the washer fluid tank is the relay. On the bottom is a white button and a red LED. I'm not sure what the approved procedure is but with the engine running, I pushed the reset button and the red LED went on. Then I pushed the 4X4, then the Low button and both modes of 4X4 worked again. No need to clean the sensors as the previous post suggested.
