Grinding sound when shifting

When I manually change gears (occurs in all gears) I hear a grinding sound when I initially put it in gear. It appears to be coming from the front to middle portion of truck. Once I accelerate, the sound goes away. I have had 2 transmissions in the past and recently a drive shaft.
