Just turned 70K and the "never-welcom engine light came on and has stayed on. I read the owner's manual how it could be sensors and the truck can still be driven, yadda-yadda, but I'm wondering if the light came on automatically when I rolled over to 70K (a scheduled major service interval)? or what??? I just changed oil at 69K (3000-mile interval, naturally). I know I need to take it in and take it in the shorts for the 70K service (sans the oil change and fuel filter since I changed it at 60K myself), but is there a way to turn the darn engine warning light off??? Or, do I have to take it to the stealership and have them do it?
First take it to an Autozone and have them scan it. (FREE) It could be something as simple as a loose gas cap. Once you find out what the code is you can go from there as far as how you want to fix it. Disconect the battery to clear the light.

Thanks V-10,
There's a couple of Auto Zones down the hill in town. I'll run by there today. I've gassed up a couple times since the light went on and I always make sure the gas cap is on snug as it can get, so I don't think that's it (unless THAT sensor isn't working right?). I'll try the A.Z. scan first BEFORE disconnecting the battery (I hate resetting my aftermarket radio: PITA!!!)
