As some of you may have seen on TV tonight the Top Fuel dragster driven by Darrell Russell was involved in a crash in the second round. When the safety safari arrived at the car, Darrell was unconsous, but breathing on his own. He was then taken to St. Louis University Hospital by helicopter. After he arrived at the hospital he passed away.

He will greatly be missed. May his family espcialy be in your prayers, but also keep in your prayers all those who are mourning his death.

Sad to see another innocent life taken.
Atleast maybe he passed doing something he loved.

I saw that last night... very sad, and strange how they say his car just broke up at 300+ mph, I wonder what happened.

Our prayers go out to his family.

Hmmm... I hadn't heard this yet. This is too bad. That article said that Blaine Johnson's crash was '96. Didn't seem like it had been that long ago.

I was watching this live when it happened. Saw it 3 times on replay, and still can't figure out what happened. It happened fast. Can't tell if it was clutch, motor, rear tire or what. I guess they will let us know after investigating. I had just yelled what a race, when it exploded just after the finish line. Really close race, by the way.
