I have a 92 f-150 V-8 thats about all I know about the engine. I had the trans fluind and gasket changed about three years and 30,000 miles ago. I get this bucking or even a slaming from the transmission usually when the engines hot and I'm driving locally not on the high way. Mechanic told me awhile back that he may have to add an additive to the fluid. Does this sound right or any suggestions.
There are many threads here with this problem, may want to search.
There is a transmission forum here at ford-trucks.com, they may have more answers for you.
There are a couple possibilities come to mind. One is your MLPS or (neutral switch). Next time it starts doing it, jiggle your shifter some and see if you can make that sensor make contact, if it starts working right, clean or replace the sensor.
It seems there was a problem with the 1-2 accumulator spring breaking in early E4OD trans, you'll need to check me on this one.
