Talking How much lift??

I want to lift the 78 in my gallery I'm not sure how much? The Tires are LT 235 85R16 E's It has 2.25" of clearance between the tire and the fender and the back has 4.25" of clearance btween the bed lip and tire. I was thinking about a 3" tapered cast iron block in back and maybe 1.5" of coil lift in frontmaybe a coil fron a 78-79 F150 4x4 with a 400 V8 with a tow pack. will that be about 1.5" that I'm looking for??. What yall think???? Look in my gallery I took pictures the are the bottom pics
thanks,
dustin

If you really want to lift, look at the I-beam flips. That gets you like 8". Really, as far as the front, the coils between the 2 and 4wds are not interchangeable. Once you lifted it, also, then your camber would be off. However, if you still want to do it, I would recommend getting some thickwall square tubing, and spacing the coil bucket down on the frame. This could involve taking the bucket off, bolting, or welding the tubing spacer to the bottom, and then putting it back on to the frame, and drilling holes as necessary to make it work. But then your camber would still be off. Oh, and then your shocks may be too short, and the steering would be off. It can be done, but for the amount of work, I don't know if it would be worth it.

I saw that too. I don't know, Its not mine, just saw the pic and thought it might be something people are interested in. I can't find out any websites anywhere that actually document this. I want to know all the stuff. I dig the wacky weird homebrewed fabrication(as long as it is actually safe)
