Question Tire sizes

I have a 2002 F150 4X4 stock from the factory with 255/75R16's on it, and they're street tires. I am looking to put some bigger tires on it. The BFG's All Terrain TA/KO's are what I'm looking at. I have been told both that 285's will and will not fit. Has anyone tried to put that size on without a special lift?

Welcome to FTE dmorris89. This question belongs in the 1997-2003 F-150 forum. The guys (and gals) over there should be able to answer your question in a jiff.

Some tire sites have a chart about what fits and what hits.

Tire Sizes

I just had a set of 285/75/16's put on my 2001 4x4 screw. They fit just fine. I also went a step further, due to difference in spare tire size. I bought another alloy wheel and mounted another 285/75/16 for the spare. It also fit right under the truck in the tire holder. You can get all this great information on the sticky at the beginning of the forum and by simply asking the question. Good luck.
