Rear axleshaft?

Hey I posted earlier about my rear axle. It had been making grinding sounds and also leaking oil from the back right oil seal. Well i changed the bearing and seal. It's not making the noise or leaking anymore.. but i still have slack in my axle.. is that normal. I can move it out and in which i think is normal other wise you wouldn't be able to remove the c clip in the housing. I also can move it up n down. Also when i removed my axleshaft there were lots of shavings and where the bearing was it had an indention. That may be normal that was the first axleshaft i'd ever seen out of a vehicle.

You probably are able to move the axle up and down because the surface where the bearing rides on is worn. There should be no indentation there.
You should buy a new axle for it or you can get an "axle saver bearing". Basically it moves the bearing and seal a bit further out on the axle so it's on an unworn area. Take a look at http://www2.vsm.skf.com/usa_english/node923.aspx
