i recently bought a 97 expy 4x4 but it seems to be lower than most 4x4's...would anyone know how i can fix that without a lift kit...seems to be lower in the front end
Sounds like someone may have tried to lower it or if you have load leveling suspension, your back side could be too high. Take a measuring tape out and measure another Expy to see, all you may have to do is adjust or replace the load leveling sensor if you have one. If you do have one, it will be above the rear axle pumpkin on the drivers side.
To give you and idea, my Expy's top of bumper to ground measurements are:
front is 29.25 inches.
Rear is 27.25 inches.
Do not try to make the Expy level from front to rear by measuring the running boards or such. The rear is supposed to ride a little higher than the front for adequate frame to axle clearance on bumps. I leveled mine once, and found it made for a rough ride on ordinary street travel where there are dips and rises for RR tracks and the like.
