Had a 4.0L SOHC V6 in my '02 explorer; got 15 mpg city, 20 mpg highway, 16 mpg towing my boat. My '04 Explorer with the 4.6L V8 gets 14 city, 19 highway, still 16 towing 'cause the V8 is loafing. Plus, it sounds better with a FlowMaster! What are you looking at and how will you be using it?
Welcome to the forum Nick.
The F150's use either a 4.2L V6, 4.6L V8 or a 5.4L V8.
I'm not sure what vehicle that you are loking at. More info would be helpful.

Stena - Just to go back & forth to work. To carry any loads when necessary. But right now no towing.
LXMan1 - Was looking at an F-150. Salesman tells me that I can't get a V-6 in the new model, only maybe the heritage. Then looked at smaller pickup, but to get the package I want (V-6, ps, pl, pw, split rear window, cd,etc.)- have to get a 4x4. So I may wait for a while.
