dumb question

I bought a 1994 f150 5.8( is that a windsor or clevelend?) and it has a oil cooler on it,it takes the shorter filter, I was wondering if it cools like a transmission cooler? it almost looks like heater core hoses go to it, can someone enlighten me on this one, I am changing oil tomorrow and was just wondering how it works, thanks Randy

Your 351 is a windsor. Ford never put a 351 cleaveland in a truck. A lot of people call the 351M a cleaveland, they are not the same though. The last year for the 351M was 81. Your oil cooler is mounted in front of the radiator and as air goes through the cooler it cools the oil.

but just remember, when you get your oil changed, get the stubby filter. I got the Fram, an it's model PH2. I have the same thing. It's a nice engine, tell you what...
